Movie Review: The Green Hornet 3D

Seeing The Green Hornet in 3D was a surprisingly great movie going experience. Don’t get me wrong, the 3D effects in this movie are still no where near that of Avatar, but they were more noticeable and unique than in most other 3D movies. On top of that, the film itself told a great story, had a lot of great action, and also had Seth Rogen’s comedic touch.

The 3D effects in The Green Hornet were not amazing, but were utilized in fun and unique ways. One scene comes to mind, in which missiles are being launched out the Green Hornet’s Black Wasp car, and seemingly straight at the audience. That’s just one of many interesting 3D effects used throughout this movie. The Green Hornet does not, however, rely on these effects since it can stand on its own as a fun action film. It tells the story of how Brett Reid (Seth Rogen), as his alter ego The Green Hornet,  and his partner Kato (Jay Chou) team up to help the citizens of Los Angeles by ridding it of evil doers, such as crime boss Chudnofsky (Christoff Waltz). Along the way they get in fights with all manner of thugs and hitmen, and even have an epic battle amongst themselves. All these fight scenes are incredibly well done and fun to watch. My favorite was when The Green Hornet and Kato were being chased throughout Los Angeles by Chudnofsky and his gang, and they used all the weaponry Kato had installed in the Black Wasp.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed seeing this movie in 3D, and would recommend others experience it this way as well. Before you do, check out its trailer below:
